Some great photos from the All Ireland Interschool's Hunter-Trials.

The All Ireland Inter-schools Hunter-Trials competition took place on Saturday the 25th of March in Bagenalstown Co. Carlow. There were two teams entered which consisted of Trish Buggy, Liam Kenny and Conor Brennan, and Hannah Doyle, Kerri-Anne Reamsbottom and Carlise Comerford. We then had individual competitors competing, Ellie O Neill and Sarah Dalton. An excellent day was had by all especially Kerri Ann Reamsbottom who came 4th in the senior individuals and Trish Buggy and Hannah Doyle coming joint 9th in the same competition.

Wellread Programme

We are delighted to announce that we have received the "wellread" award, an initiative designed and organised by the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). It aims to create heightened awareness about the importance of creating a culture of reading in school communities for our young people as part of their personal and academic development. The school community is now recognised nationally as a school that promotes and encourages a culture of reading.

You can read more about the award on the PDST website by clicking here, and you can find out more about our school initiatives under the "extra-curricular" tab above.

  • Pupils get to show appliance of science
Student science fairs and exhibitions have tended to be seen as optional extras, undertaken by particularly keen students, with some schools having strong track records in encouraging participation.
  • DARE deadlines are looming, but you don’t have to be eligible to get supports in college
CAO applicants should have noticed that they were asked to declare if they have a disability or specific learning difficulty. Information provided in this section of the form allows higher education colleges to contact applicants to obtain further details about their needs and gives the institution the opportunity to advise individuals on the supports available to them during their studies.
