All Ireland Colleges Junior "B" Camogie Semi-Final Replay

Castlecomer C.S. 1-8 ; Borrisokane C.C. 2-4.

In a titanic clash which was level on three occasions there was never more than a puck of a ball  in this All Ireland Colleges Junior "B" Camogie Semi-Final Replay played at a pristine Conahy Shamrocks GAA Grounds on Friday. In the end it was Castlecomer Community School who were celebrating after a narrow and nail biting one point win over a gallant Borrisokane C.S. of Tipperary. The Comer management team of Gavin Nolan, Fiona Morrisey and Ciara Holohan were forced to re-shuffle the starting line up with captain Therese Kelly, despite carrying an injury, taking over in goals, Ellen Gunner was switched into attack while versatile Marlise Comerford moved to centre back. On the day all of the Comer "big guns" did the business but the real strength of the side was all so prevalent with the "unsung heroes" also on their "A" game. Megan Brennan came through with flying colours in a little v large clash, Sofia Kerr was always in the thick of things, Shannon Conry back to her steady as she goes best, while up front the trio of Colleen Booth, Sarah Smyth and Sarah Brennan battled for, and won, vital possession which resulted in several scoring frees. Once again Grace Mulhall was in sharp shooting form with a personal tally of 1-8, a feature of which were a number of long range frees so well converted. Midfielder Shannon Feehan was probably the most effective Comer player with a will of the wisp display both in attack and defence. This excellent team will now have their big day out in the All Ireland Final with a second shot at favourites Presentation Wexford.
