Junk Kouture Photoshoot

On Wednesday the 15th of January 2020, two of the three junk Kouture groups went to the Discovery Park for the photoshoot. The two groups were Istäcke (Cleo Dinnegan and Emma Flattery) and Le Début De L’image De Soi (Katelyn O’Brien, Abby Marnell and Amy O’Shea). We started getting ready at nine o’clock by doing our hair and make-up. Both models then got into their outfits.

We were down in the Discovery Park for about 10;30 am. Mr. Dunne, our amazing art teacher took the photos on his camera and tripod stand. They were pretty bomb photos. Along with the photos we had to make a descriptive video explaining our dress and how we made it. We posted the video and some pictures on our social media accounts to promote our dresses. Unfortunately, it was a freezing day, but the discovery park had beautiful scenery which really improved the photos. We had a lot of fun and the photos looked idyllic with ice capped roofs. The photographs we took today will decide whether we get through to the next round which is the regional finals in the Helix in Dublin. Fingers crossed the we get through. You can support us by following our Instagram accounts.

Wellread Programme

We are delighted to announce that we have received the "wellread" award, an initiative designed and organised by the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). It aims to create heightened awareness about the importance of creating a culture of reading in school communities for our young people as part of their personal and academic development. The school community is now recognised nationally as a school that promotes and encourages a culture of reading.

You can read more about the award on the PDST website by clicking here, and you can find out more about our school initiatives under the "extra-curricular" tab above.
