Pastoral Care
We are very proud of our Pastoral Care system in Castlecomer Community School, which is in place to support and guide your child through their time with us.
- In first year each student is placed in a Class Group, with a dedicated class teacher, This teacher will be the first line of support for the students, and they will remain as part of this groups for the Junior Cycle.
- Each year group is overseen by the Year Head, who deals with pastoral, behavioural and academic issues.
- We have a chaplain (Ms Cuddy) and two Guidance Counsellors (Mr. Tynan and Ms. Broderick) on the staff, who are there for issues that may require more indepth help.
- As well as all these layers of support. the school also has access to a professional counsellor, and appointments can be arranged for a student to see them if necessary.
